Full Snow Moon in Leo: A Call to Align with Your True Essence

Today, the Full Snow Moon in Leo illuminates the sky, calling us to step fully into the radiant essence of who we are.

Leo, ruled by the fiery Sun (Surya), carries the energy of courage (Sahas), self-expression (Svabhava), and inner radiance (Tejas). This is the sign of the heart—both the physical heart that sustains life and the spiritual heart (Hridaya) that holds our deepest truth.

Under this moon, we are invited to stand tall in our light, to dissolve self-doubt, and to embrace the full spectrum of our being without apology.

The Snow Moon, named by ancient cultures for its presence in the coldest depths of winter, is a paradox—an icy landscape illuminated by the fire of the Sun’s most regal sign. This contrast mirrors the inner journey we are called to take. In the stillness of winter, we are asked to look within, to reflect on what keeps us small, and to summon the warmth and boldness of Leo’s energy to break free from self-imposed limitations.

In Yoga, we often speak of Tapas (inner discipline, sacred fire)—the transformative heat that burns away stagnation and awakens clarity. This Full Moon asks us:

  • Where am I holding back my light?

  • Am I expressing my truth with courage and love?

  • How can I align more fully with my Dharma (soul’s path)?

Leo energy teaches us that true radiance is not about ego (Ahamkara) but about self-awareness (Atma-Vidya). It is a remembrance of the soul’s inherent luminosity, the eternal flame that exists within.

Just as the moon reflects the light of the sun, we, too, are here to reflect the divine light that flows through us.

This lunation is a cosmic invitation to shed layers of conditioning, to recognize where we have dimmed ourselves to fit into spaces that do not honor us, and to step into the full expression of our true essence.

In yoga, this is the practice of Satya (truthfulness)—living in alignment with who we are at the deepest level.

Leo also rules the throat (Vishuddha Chakra), the space of expression, creativity, and communication. This Full Moon may highlight where our voices have been silenced, where we have withheld our truth out of fear, and where we are being called to speak, share, and express.

To embody this energy in our practice and our lives, we can ask ourselves:

  • What ignites passion within me?

  • Where am I being called to lead with love and authenticity?

  • How can I embody the fearless heart of a lion?

The teachings of yoga remind us that our presence is a gift, our light is needed, and our truth is sacred. Under this Full Moon, we are not just asked to see ourselves clearly—we are asked to embrace ourselves fully, with all of our brilliance, imperfections, and depth.

As the moon reaches its peak, may we remember:We are here to shine. We are here to love. We are here to be fully, radiantly, beautifully ourselves.
